Day 4-7

The time slipped from her hands as the days disappeared. Illness and lack of energy stole from her what time she could muster. She thought about the shock that the company would move and looked away from it thinking this was for the best.

Idaho is a sports town. All they report about in the days that followed was football. That would never work. She was not a sports fan first and second did not have the sports mentality to handle this kind of life focus.

Colorado provided better opportunity for more fun activities as there was a wider range of reports on a larger range of subjects than just sports. Colorado even reported finding tiny dinosaur footprints, something she could hold onto.

She took care of what she needed and ventured back and forth from her sick bed to her life trying to get her energy back so she could function again.

Idaho, Colorado; the Magic 8 Ball said chances were the company would not move. Ha! She hoped it were true. She hoped her art would grow and she hoped for romance, always romance.

Day 3

Ok, today was filled with listening to the occasional, “You’re not moving to Idaho.” from her daughter. Her arguments were strong and she appealed her patience by saying “It’s a year away if that, hon.…”

Occasionally she cleaned, got her son ready for his evening of romance with a “friend” as a friend, which went entirely well so life was good here.

And the evening was capped by seeing the movie to the book she just finished reading; albeit, the movie moguls changed and fictionalized her story to make for a better story, but massively failed at the point of the book leaving this viewer somewhat dissatisfied with the results.

The ghost is still under the sink; it just knocked at me bringing my attention to it.

Funny what the soul needs to survive. Hers was telling her to change her point of view. To what she kept asking her self. How about what’s coming at her? Or maybe, what she attracts? Why does evil stay glued to her like her ex?

She casually glanced over at the lamp to see the picture she taped to the base. It was a shot of her at Christmas time, when she got her first bike. Big forehead, caught in the moment of climbing onto the bike, what was she - seven or eight? Her reflection of her life was someone who always felt invisible to the world. Like the caterpillar in the cocoon, she could she her world as she changed into the butterfly but the entire world never noticed her changing and walked right by her beauty.

Ok, ok, enough of that, this is about Idaho/Colorado and moving with the Company, not her; focus on the task at hand and get back to it. If she is to move, there is much ahead of her, especially her “stuff” – really need to pear it down.

Day Two

Well she spent a great deal of time thinking about Idaho. Ever now and then she would think of something and jump onto Google and check out a comparison of her world to this other place, a place called Boise, Idaho. This is a place where the top news is a person stabs another person over a parking space, a bear dies after being hit by a car and in August of 2009 an 18-year-old gang member, (yes they have gangs) is arrested and put away.

Checked out gas prices, a bit lower but close enough to what she pays now. Salary for what she does is the same in Boise so without an increase, she will still not be paid what the going rate for what she does is paid.

Daughter is beginning to plead for her to work remotely… "I don’t know," she thinks, "it is all to weird." It is like a dream knowing about this possibility. Frankly no one is interested in her for all she can offer so this weighs heavily in all decisions. But all is a year away and she is only on day two of her journey.

Today in Boise, temps were 43º and partly cloudy, lows 39 to 47, southeast winds up to 10 mph and the humidity was 93%.

Did not do much about Denver, Co, maybe tomorrow…she thought...she didn't like today.

Day One: News that it's not so much a fantasy

News update: the company asked her today if they moved out of state, lets say to 40 miles outside of Boise, Id, would she go with them a year from now… quick calculations, son would be 18, yeah, she would.

All 6 ft, red hair, California, vegetarian eating gal, "Yeah I would go," she thought.

She had not had much luck with finding replacement work for the job she had and while she continued to apply everywhere, no one was ringing her back.

So since she cannot think of how she would support herself or her family if the Company left town, her only thought was to go with them.

“I want to live in Ventura,” he repeated to his phone caller over the phone over and over; he was talking to his father who was making motions about his own departures. From across the room she tried not to listen, but she couldn’t help it, this house did not afford proper privacy. Life as she knew it was changing and she had better get a plan together.

So she started a journal, Idaho-Colorado she thought of it. Everyday, check out the world of the two new states that dangled in front of her and study them so she could be prepared as best as she knew how. Research was all it took to be prepared. She could do this.

At 11:06 PM in Boise, Id it was 49º and clear; in Colorado, Denver, it was 37ºand clear. It’s a start. Colorado had SW winds of 3 mph and 47% humidity, Boise, winds were N at 0 mph and 69% humidity. Oay vey, she certainly had much to learn and only one year to watch it all was to reveal itself right in front of her.
